YouTube Golf vs PGA Tour at Tour Championship

On August 28, 2024, golf history was made at East Lake Golf Club with the first-ever PGA Championship Creator Classic. This groundbreaking event brought together 16 of the world’s top golf content creators for a thrilling competition that fused the traditional aspects of the sport with the innovative world of social media. Hosted just before the TOUR Championship, the Creator Classic offered a fresh and engaging take on competitive golf.

Set against the backdrop of East Lake’s newly restored and even more difficult course, the Creator Classic showcased the creators battling it out in an eight-hole stroke play format. The top four performers advanced to a playoff round, where the ultimate champion was crowned.

The competition included well-known names like Tyler Toney from Dude Perfect, Paige Spiranac, and Garrett Clark from Good Good. With their massive online followings, these creators brought a diverse audience to the sport, blending their unique styles and personalities with the challenges of the game.

The tournament's format not only provided excitement but also a glimpse of the newly renovated course, which has been returned to its Golden Age design under the guidance of Donald Ross​.

The Creator Classic was streamed live across several platforms, including the PGA TOUR's YouTube channel, Peacock, ESPN+, and various FAST platforms like PlutoTV and Roku. Results

With only the top 4 players advancing after 8 holes the adrenaline was high from the star but only one player could win. Luke Kwon started the day with a double bogey at the 10^th and played the next 7 holes at -2 to get into the playoff with PGA tour player Wesley Bryan, Korn Ferry Player Sean Walsh and Callaway’s Roger Steele. He drained a 10-footer for birdie in the playoff hole at 18^th and was crowned victorious.

No matter the round or hiccups he maintained a smile on his face throughout the round and even commented “I don’t know how I won this”

With only the top 30 FedEx ranking players in the field a lot is up for grabs. The fan favourite pick for this season seems to be and Xander as Scottie have not had his dominating performance over the last couple of weeks.

The prize pool is set up for the winner to walk away with $25 Million and the runner up with $12.5 Million and who would it be?
